Time To Mend Your Ways

祸不单行。This is so true lor, these few days the life like shit lah, kana sai problems everywhere. Shall try to handle them all. What kind of shit I never experience before. Walau.  {9pm}

Well I guess I am at fault. Seriously. Causing so much trouble, what could one have expected from me? Array of confusions I am now, I just attract attentions to myself, most of the time negatively, what do I wanna achieve from this?

I should put down myself and rendah hati. Humble, modest, that’s what I should do. At least for now. {11pm}

 

Not exactly in the mood to post now already, but today’s trip to the museum is really special. I went to the Arts House @ The Old Parliament and the Asian Civilisations Museum. For one of the rare moments I felt proud for being NJCian, because I think NJ donated quite some money to the museums so there made it free for NJCians to enter the compound. The Kangxi exhibition was over and now they have this Asian Cultures exhibition, including SEA, Indian Subcontinent, China and West Asia. There was also this McCurry guy who is a renowned photographer and he had his exhibition there as well.

The Arts House featured this photo exhibition on the theme “Cats”. The cats were really adorable and the focus the photographers made on the cats was impactful, perfect.

Yeah so that’s a day. What an eventful life indeed.

Intern 十日新人 ​

Just ended a 10-day (actually it’s 11 but whatever, I’m an Arts student so I am assumed to be unable to process numbers beyond 9) internship. It was an amazing process of self-discovery I swear. 带了一群大学新鲜人过来我们公司参加十天的商业竞赛，其间还在民丹岛待了三天。 这短短十天真是充满了发现自我的时刻——发现自己的特长、弱点，种种。 Leading a team of interns is nothing like leading a Hall or a student society, because the stakeholders are very different. You’re no longer just responsible to organisational entities but also responsible to tangible successes, which is basically KPIs like profit or manpower. Multi-tasking have reached a new level for myself. Being someone who is extremely haphazard (and messy), leading a team while staying focused on track on what I am supposed to do already as a financial advisor is pretty challenging. 革命尚未成功，林北仍需努力。非常努力。 Being friends and co-workers at the same time brings your relationship to a whole new level. I guess one of the biggest realisation for myself is my lack of patience. I guess the past few years in Hall

You realise my life is basically just Eusoff Hall right? And a bit of school. 所以2017年，我真的需要感谢你吗？ 1. I returned from exchange in Tainan. It was a shithole no doubt, and landed me with really bad 扁桃腺炎 (tonsillitis, where your tonsils gets really rotten and you see yellow shit at the back of your throat). I was so sick of the place that I took the immediate flight back to Singapore in the afternoon after my morning finals paper. Tough life. Okay lah the grades not bad. After all it is supposed to be SU but I am glad I put in enough effort. What to do, the Taiwanese think that Singaporeans are damn perfect so I really need to prove them right. 累死林北了啦。 2. And I didn’t know I can play music. Hahaha. [Okay warning, allow me to haolian a bit can.] So… I tried A Cappella and did a little gig at NJC Talentime this year. Really scary but fun.
