First post since COVID-19. Not exactly sure what to write, simply because so many things took place--I completed my Masters, I moved house several times, I was promoted, I applied for a new home, I am recruiting, blah blah blah. Just too happening. And time is slipping away fast.

Didn't really have time to consolidate my mind, but yes I'm a little tired of managing the expectations of others. I mean, it's my life, I decide, isn't it? 哪儿来那么多事？


Just a random rant for now. A short rant about everything in the last 5 years.

You realise my life is basically just Eusoff Hall right? And a bit of school. 所以2017年，我真的需要感谢你吗？ 1. I returned from exchange in Tainan. It was a shithole no doubt, and landed me with really bad 扁桃腺炎 (tonsillitis, where your tonsils gets really rotten and you see yellow shit at the back of your throat). I was so sick of the place that I took the immediate flight back to Singapore in the afternoon after my morning finals paper. Tough life. Okay lah the grades not bad. After all it is supposed to be SU but I am glad I put in enough effort. What to do, the Taiwanese think that Singaporeans are damn perfect so I really need to prove them right. 累死林北了啦。 2. And I didn’t know I can play music. Hahaha. [Okay warning, allow me to haolian a bit can.] So… I tried A Cappella and did a little gig at NJC Talentime this year. Really scary but fun. Toronto trip was fun. I don't know how to describe it, I've been here for two weeks last year, yet I still get surprises along the way. Met a lot of awesome people. Hot Korean and Chinese babes too. It seems like Angmoh-born Asians are hotter. WHY HUH? Talking about immigrants, Toronto has A LOT A LOT of immigrants. When I reached their airport almost everyone I saw had black hair. Canada is a bilingual country with English and French. But here, Chinese and Korean characters are everywhere. What does being an immigrant imply? Increased competition for finite resources? Overcrowded trains and buses? It seems to me that migrating is a trend globally. Many angmohs (along with PRCs and Pinoys) chose to move to Singapore, while many Singaporeans are getting PR statuses elsewhere. During the good old monkey-ape days, people moved to seek shelter and food. The notion of nations and races, however, added identity to them. People started to gather as families and commun
