The Retrocession

This week is happening enough. Russian Elementary Course ended with an interesting dinner at Zeffir. At Dunlop Street. I wonder why I didn't take pictures of the place, but the traffic conditions were bad. Anyway it's my first time trying Russian food. Potatoes, lotsa meat, but no chilli. It's always fun to try new things, but it's not my cup of tea hahaha. BUT THEY'VE GOT AWESOME SOUP. The next time I come I will try all their soups! And then we have ADIDAS SUNDOWN! Talking about chionging, it was a disappointing results comparedto last year's. I realised ever since I ORDed I have became a weakling. :( Wasting time doing stupid things I guess. It turned out that I spent my time camwhoring while running. Much to the annoyance of the other runners I guess? HAHAHAHA. It is indeed fun running in such large events. During our IPPT and NAPFA even though no one is tekan-ing us there will always be this innate mon...

This week is a roller coaster ride for me. I'm pretty sure. I went to run today. A LONG LONG RUN. Keeps me motivated for life. Distracts me from nonsense in life. And also training for AHM, coming soon in September, which I am pretty sure I'll be called back to run for the Signals. Ran through a lot of places today, from Simei all the way to town, and back till Eunos, where I started walking back as part of cooling down. Ran to Newton via Boon Keng area, then till Orchard, Fort Canning, Lau Pa Sat, The Sail, Collyer Quay, The Padang, and down Nicoll Highway back home. Can't really count how many kilometres that will be, but definitely quite a few Calories yeah? Life lesson learnt today. TRUST. TRUST. TRUST. AND TRUST. And like it or not, I am the cause of the problem. Not anyone, but me. Because I was too selfish. And many other adjectives which I don't even know exist or not, but you know what I mean. I will wait for my second chance.

13 weeks finally ended. Time to enjoy the cool breeze of Pasir Laba.... Too bad the Bayonet isn't destined to be mine, hahahaha but I've still got another trophy on my hand for being Top Team in the Ex. Which isn't so bad. I'm defintely fighting for the chance to go for more courses during my remaining term in NS. Come to think about it, it's actually a little blessed that I OOCed. Imagine if i hadn't; where would I be now? Most probably in the forest now commanding men right. Which is what I enjoy... But what would I learn? What skills do I gain? At least now by doing saikang, I know how the Logistics operate, never don't look down on them. At least now by going overseas as an OOC, I know how our training is done out there in full picture. At least now by sitting in the office waiting for things to happen, I know how important office jobs are. At least now I am able to carry my barang-barang and go on an Amazing Race-like trip with 7 men. A...

「イマ」という ほうき星 君と二人 追いかけてた! Phew. It's gonna be the last week I'm in SI as a cadet. This week is perhaps the best week I've had so far here. I'm good at Combat stuff. Just returned from another Exercise. One that contains navigation and summarisation of all the things that we have learnt. Suey, or God's will, I was the Team IC again. OUR TEAM ATTAINED FIRST. After the exercise, it's a Beret Presentation Ceremony. I'm fortunately chosen as the Parade Commander. Yes, the one that stands in front of the boss and shouts commands. Platun SEDI-A! It can be really annoying when people (civilians, that is) mock at our soldiers. Freaking dumb. Without people like them, you all can go eat bombs and see your arms in Jurong while your legs are in Changi.  Anyway this week was just, CRAZY. Punching router(config)# for two days, then a 24km March at ECP , and a very very siong exercise to train our Planning and Execution skills. It's just, ARGH DAMN SHACK . Especially when you are an appointment holder. The highest ranking appointment holder. Well I appreciate the fact that people think I am fit for the job. But THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT SOMETHING THAT I WANT. DAMN IT. But then anyway, now that it's over, with another navigation + summary exercise next week, that's it for this course. Two weeks, I will be back to SCS to see my beloved Encik who doted on me. Four weeks, I will be donning a new rank. A rank that all those who from JCs should have received already. Time to start a new adventure. Yay.

I am sick. D: Sore throat, with all this yucky stuff, and fever headache neckache whatever ache. Still, went for a run. Because I have to. I am a soldier right. And I need to train for the start of my next upcoming course: SIG SPEC COURSE. I told myself I've gotta achieve something there. I WILL. Anyway, as I was saying, I went for a little run. From my house to Upp Changi Rd East, then Bedok Rd, then Upp East Coast Rd, then........ Okay lah very tired, but I managed to 逼 all my 气 out during the run, and I feel more comfortable now actually. Took some pictures here, because I know that 90% of NJ people don't stay in the East. I mean the East proper lah, not Sengkang Punggol that kind... Upp East Coast Rd/East Coast Rd Expensive right. Can compare with a lot of those houses along Bt Timah Rd loh...... By the way, the camp that I've been wanting to go all along before I OOC is here. Guards! So as I was saying, I went to the Museum on Wednesday. And before that I decided to go to the Esplanade Library. I thought all libraries would open at 10am! Not so for Esplanade Library! D: Citylink Mall, on my way to the Esplanade  So the disheartened carried on walking to the National Museum past SMU. SMU is full of students. And they all wear like.... they are going on a chalet with a laptop hahahahaha. So the Pompeii Exhibitioin costs $6 for a NSF. Which is half-price. This called Care For Soldier, the last but definitely not the least of the 7 Commandments of our mighty organisation..... The entrance was quite sad lah, with all the body casts of the victims from the volcano eruption... But the following galleries were pretty educational, now I know how does volcano eruptions occur (sorry lah I don't take Geog)  and cheemology like pumice, lapilli, basalt, caldera, blah blah blah. Artist's Impression of the upcoming Batu Caves （黑风洞） Light Rail Station First I gotta say that this is DAMN UGLY. I know it's only an artist's impression lah, but the impression isn't IMPRESSIVE at all.
